          $50 for a 4.0 or higher

     Improvement Award

$20 if your attendance or GPA improved

     Outstanding Attendance Award

          Top 10 best attendance: $20

          Best attendance: $70

We had 13 people win a GPA award, 10 win an attendance award, and 11 win the Improvement Award. At this event, we also gave out free school supplies to families in need. We handed out back to school essentials in book bags to students and families. At this event we had 100+ people in attendance.

CU Denver Business School Tour

On February 17, 2025, Path2Citizenship partnered with the University of Colorado Denver Business School to host a special campus tour designed specifically for refugee youth. Nine students, from 9th to 12th grade, participated in this inspiring experience, which included:

     A guided campus tour

Interactive sessions with faculty and student mentors

An introduction to college life and business education

A Q&A about college applications and scholarships

The event gave our students a glimpse of what’s possible and encouraged them to envision themselves as future college students and community leaders.

We’re grateful to CU Denver for their partnership and commitment to supporting the educational journeys of refugee youth.

2024 Path2Light Award Ceremony

In September 2024, we launched the Path2Light Award initiative to recognize and encourage academic achievement and school attendance among refugee youth in our community. The awards were designed to celebrate both excellence and growth—values that are especially meaningful for refugee students navigating a new education system.

The award categories included:

     GPA Excellence Award
$20 for a GPA of 3.0 or higher
          $50 for a GPA of 4.0

     Attendance Awards
$20 for the Top 10 students with the fewest absences or tardies (4 tardies = 1 absence)
$50 for the top-ranked student with the best attendance record

Our first Path2Light Award Ceremony was held on December 27, 2024, with 32 refugee youths from 6th to 12th grade in attendance. A total of 9 students received GPA awards, including 2 students with a GPA above 4.0. 10 students received attendance awards, with one student recognized for perfect attendance.
